Best NFT Projects Worth Checking Out!

As non-fungible tokens (NFTs) continue to gain immense popularity, there have been a BUNCH of NFT projects, art collections, and even games for people to invest in.

Each collection comes with its unique design, from virtual cats to monkeys wearing suits, making NFTs popular among collectors and investors everywhere!

Here are some of the best NFT projects worth checking out.

In Case You Need A Refresher

An NFT is a non-fungible token that cannot be replicated or replaced. NFT creators use NFTs to claim ownership of certain digital assets, whether digital artworks or games.

If I give you one Bitcoin in exchange for another Bitcoin, the value is still the same; it is FUNGIBLE, but NFTs allow a digital asset to be irreplaceable.

Prospective buyers can use Opensea or Rarible. These are NFT marketplaces that allow easy access to buying, selling, creating, and trading NFTs.

The data of ownership history of the NFT is kept on a digital record on the Ethereum blockchain technology for the community to see.

With that out of the way, here are some of the BEST NFT PROJECTS to check out and invest in!

1. Cryptopunks

Crypto Punk

Cryptopunks is an NFT collection launched by Larva Labs. It features 10,000 unique pixelated heads with proof of ownership on the Ethereum blockchain.

This project is one of the earliest NFTs ever launched, dating back to 2017.

No two heads (or punks) are alike, and each comes with a colored background that lets you know its status.

A blue background means that it is not for sale, while a red one means that the punk is available for sale by the owner. The purple background means that there is an active bid on that punk.

Cryptopunks remains to be one of the most popular NFT projects on any NFT marketplace today!

2. NBA Top Shot

NBA Top Shot

Who knew that the National Basketball Association of all companies would create their NFTs?

The NBA partnered with Dapper Labs to create their own NFT marketplace to sell video highlights and player statistics of basketball games.

They are like trading cards, except they are digital are on the crypto market.

This work is a unique NFT project since instead of digital arts or games, this NFT is in the realm of sports, the only project, if not mistaken!

Given how big the NBA community is, this has become one of the BIGGEST NFT projects ever.

This project sold one video clip of a LeBron James slam dunk at a whopping $400,000!

3. VeeFriends

VeeFriends

NFT enthusiast and online entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk has created his own NFT project on the Ethereum blockchain called VeeFriends.

VeeFriends is a collection of 10,255 tokens of unique doodles made by Gary himself. Each token purchased can be used as a redeemable voucher pass to a certain event like tennis, bowling, or brunch!

For example, his “Facetime Frog” token gives you a one on one video call pass with Gary.

His “Gift Goats” token allows the buyer to receive a gift package straight to their doorstep.

Every NFT token also grants the owner access to Veecon, which Gary’s convention focused on business, entrepreneurship, marketing, etc.

One of the more creative NFT projects out there!

4. Bored Ape Yacht Club

Bored Ape Yacht Club

One of the most widely-known and best NFT projects is Bored Ape Yacht Club or BAYC!

You might have seen those digital art pieces of the monkeys in the funny suits and costumes and stuff. It turns out that the project of monkey art is worth BILLIONS!

With 10,000 unique drawings, the prices of BAYC continued to increase over time, resulting in it being one of the HIGHEST-SELLING NFT projects of all time.

Whether it’s the vibrant colors of each ape, or if it makes you happy seeing it as your avatar on Twitter or Discord, either way, these apes are EXTREMELY valuable and worth looking into!

You can also check out their Mutant Ape Yacht Club collection, which is a spinoff of BAYC.

5. Moon Boyz

Moon Boyz

11,111 of these cute little astronaut guys on the Ethereum blockchain are waiting to be brought back to earth!

This NFT project is really interesting as it is one of the few made in 3D digital art, which is probably attracting so many investors, given that the Moon Boyz was sold out on September 25, 2021.

Moon Boyz NFT holders are given access to multiple benefits, such as real-world and online gifts, merchandise, and more!

AND GET THIS.

The creators of Moon Boyz are holding a contest for interested NFT holders to go on a commercial flight to SPACE on Blue Origin in 2022!

If that doesn’t encourage you, who knows what will.

6. Sneaky Vampire Syndicate

Sneaky Vampire Syndicate

Similar to Bored Apes Yacht Club (because they come from the same artist), Sneaky Vampire Syndicate offers 8,888 unique drawings of vampires, and no two vampires are the same!

Each vampire token holder is granted access to the Syndicate, which includes special giveaways and exclusive merch for each holder.

You will also get to interact with other vampire holders in the Vampire Lair. They are currently working on Generation 2, which will have new features and companions.

7. Lazy Lions

Lazy Lion

If monkeys or vampires don’t suit you, maybe a lion will!

Lazy Lions is another NFT project that features 10,000 unique lion drawings hosted on the Ethereum blockchain.

Each lion has a unique set of attributes, making no two lions the same.

Buying a lion secures a spot on a secretly located place in the Lazy Lion community called the Private Island.

The perks include private access to the Discord channel, community wallet, merch, and more!

8. Codex Protocol

CodexProtocol

Codex is not an art piece with many faces or outfits, unlike the other entries on this list so far.

Instead, Codex Protocol is a platform that verifies authentic NFTs. The Codex Viewer allows the buyer to check the identity and ownership history of the NFT.

This platform gives them a sense of security that they are buying from a legitimate source and are buying authentic products.

In this age where digital assets are so easily stolen or replicated and can be difficult to verify which are authentic, thanks to the Codex Protocol platform for that!

9. CryptoKitties

CryptoKitties

DIGITAL CATS!

For all you cat-lovers out there, CryptoKitties is an NFT Ethereum-based video game platform that allows you to take care of and breed cats!

Each digital cat has its unique features and attributes. Or “cattributes,” as they put it.

Each cat is protected by its NFT, so it cannot be replaced or taken away. You can also buy and sell other cats within the community, earn rewards and gifts, and play with other players!

This cat collection is slowly becoming one of the most successful NFT projects due to its interactive nature and the ability to collect many different adorable cats!

10. Beeple NFTs

Beeple NFTs

Beeple, also known as Mike Winklemann, is a graphic designer who makes comical and dreamlike digital artworks sold as NFTs.

His artworks can range anywhere, from funny to satirical to straight-up absurd. But we can’t help but want one of our own!

You might have seen that collage of artworks sold for an INSANE $69 MILLION, making it probably the highest sold NFT EVER!

Yep, that was Beeple.

Beeple started selling prints for only $100 back then. With NFTs, he could upload all of his works over 14 years and become the owner of the highest-selling NFT of all time.

11. Enjin

Enjin.io

Founded in 2009, Enjin started as an NFT platform that allows you to create and manage NFTs using blockchain technology.

In 2018, Enjin announced that it would shift its focus towards NFT games, and since announcing its gaming multiverses, it has become one of the MOST POPULAR NFT platforms to create games and trade in-game assets.

Using its cheap cryptocurrency ENJ, it reached its highest market cap of all NFTs at over 2 BILLION dollars.

Since then, it has become one of the best NFT crypto projects on the market for video game creators!

12. Axie Infinity

Axie Infinity

If you grew up playing Pokemon, then you will love Axie Infinity!

Axie Infinity is a blockchain-based NFT game platform inspired by the Pokemon and Tamagotchi that allows players to battle, breed, and collect virtual creatures called Axies for Ethereum.

Like CryptoKitties, each player contributes to the blockchain ecosystem, meaning the more you play the game, the more rewards you reap!

It is a play-to-earn system where you can earn from battling and breeding, selling them on the market, and collecting rare Axies.

Players must set up their crypto-wallet and buy three Axies from the marketplace before they can start playing.

Since its release, it has risen in popularity among NFT games and other NFT projects, with about 10,000 users every month.

13. Art Blocks

Art Blocks

Art Blocks is quite an interesting project as it generates pieces of artwork not by hand but digitally by an algorithm.

Each artwork is a completely different style all together, earning around $403 MILLION worth of trading volume.

A single artwork sold for $3.3 million, making it one of 16 pieces sold for over a million dollars.

The interesting thing about this project is that it could be the closest thing we get to buying and selling traditional artworks, except the artist is a computer that runs on a script or code.

With this project, you have a crypto museum or crypto gallery!

14. Decentraland

Decentraland

One of the best NFT projects among the community, Decentraland, is an online real estate platform on Ethereum that allows users to buy, sell, and establish virtual plots of land while exploring other virtual worlds.

Decentraland runs on the MANA token, which can be purchased through cryptocurrency exchanges, and can be used for trading, buying, and selling items, plots of land, and other assets.

It is like creating a virtual version of yourself, complete with unique houses, outfits, names, etc.!

It also uses a token called LAND, the token of ownership that users attach to their assets. It sort of acts like the “deed” to your house or assets.

Everything real estate-related can be done on Decentraland, from land auctions to mortgages. No more of that annoying paperwork!

15. Meebits

Meebits

Here is another project that comes to us from the great people who started CryptoPunks.

Meebits are similar to Art Blocks and Moon Boyz because they are 3D characters that are randomly created with an algorithm.

Reminiscent of characters from the worlds of Minecraft and Roblox, Meebits are designed as giant pixels that users can purchase and use in-game or in virtual spaces.

Meebits make for a great collector’s item and allow users to trade NFTs with each other.

Each Meebit has its own set unique design, and if you are REALLY into collecting and if you have access to a 3D printer, you can 3D print your Meebits to have an actual physical version of it for your bedroom!

16. Ethereum Name Services

Ethereum Name Service

Ethereum Name Services (ENS) is a decentralized domain-naming platform that allows your domain name on the blockchain.

These domain names are non-fungible and can receive NFTs under that name.

ENS takes long, hard-to-understand names and shortens them into something simpler, making it easier to read and comprehend.

It is essentially coming up with nicknames for Ethereum addresses.

Instead of reading a long randomized list of numbers and letters, ENS shortens it to something like name.eth, so it is easier to find and makes the process of exchanging cryptocurrency faster.

17. The Sandbox

The Sandbox

Like Decentraland, the Sandbox is an NFT project that allows you to explore and create your virtual world and games!

It also partnered with many popular brands, from Atari to Hell’s Kitchen to the Smurfs!

Players can create their game assets and sell them on the marketplace as an NFT together. The decentralized marketplace allows for buying and trading of assets among players.

It makes of the $Sand token, which acts as the currency for assets.

Since its release, the Sandbox was able to raise $93 million for the project’s redevelopment.

Conclusion

This is just the tip of the iceberg for NFT projects!

There are still TONS of projects out there, plus a lot of upcoming NFT projects to look forward to.

There also be a handful of new projects coming in the next few months, so be sure to check those out too.

NFTs have changed the digital world in ways we could not have imagined. Always remember to assess your current financial situation before investing!
