BOSS CAT ROCKET CLUB: MAKING MOVES IN THE CNFT SPACE

Cardano is growing — it is a Layer 1 blockchain that is making a lot of ground to be the number one rival to the lead horse in the race: Ethereum. As a blockchain ecosystem grows, its NFT ecosystem and community flourishes as well.

CNFTs started with “blue chip” and historical projects such as Berries, Spacebudz, and Clay Nation. Owning one of those early CNFTs has become a “flex” or status symbol in the Cardano community. These hallmark “blue chip” collections held the top spots (and still currently do, at the time of writing) but more recent addition to the CNFT space has been making waves in the community.

Announced on March 30th, 2022, the Boss Cat Rocket Club (BCRC) and legendary pound-for-pound boxing great Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao announced their partnership. This is monumental news as Pacman is widely known (even by casual boxing fans) as one of the greatest of all time. He is a celebrity in his own right as well as a public servant  in his native Philippines.

So what would motivate Pacman to partner with the BCRC? Find out more below. As always, remember that this is NFA (not financial advice) and DYOR (do your own research)!

What is the Boss Cat Rocket Club?

The Boss Cat Rocket Club is a profile picture (PFP) Cardano NFT collection that aims to mimic the success of Ethereum’s Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) on the Cardano blockchain. In fact, Blue Magic, the founder of BCRC, is also a member of the BAYC community on Ethereum. The decision for BCRC to launch on Cardano was largely due to the hefty transaction fees, or “gas” fees, on Ethereum.

BCRC minted 9,999 randomly, algorithmically generated “‘Boss Cats”. Their first mint sold out fairly quickly, and the project continued to build tremendous hype even after selling out. The artwork and marketing prowess of the BCRC team definitely draws parallels to the BAYC project, and it is clear that its founder drew inspiration from holding Bored Apes and being a member of that community.

What about the rockets and Boss Planet?

There is a reason why space iconography and symbolism is so prevalent in the crypto and NFT community. The term “moon” is used as a verb in the crypto and NFT communities to signify astronomical price gains and pumps. BCRC’s team managed to work that into their NFTs — and it’s not just in name only.

In addition to releasing PFP Boss Cat NFTs, the BCRC then followed the cats with rocket parts. There are three parts or CNFTs to collect to assemble each rocket: an external fuel tank, an orbiter, and a rocket booster. With the current floor of a single rocket part sitting at 3050 ADA (at the time of writing), you can imagine that completed rockets with all three parts are easily worth 5-digit ADA.

To continue with the space theme, BCRC is building its own metaverse in the form of a planet — aptly called Boss Planet. BCRC has released 129,600 plots of Boss Planet land. The idea is to create a virtual environment in which BCRC community members can visit and partake in their own unique metaverse.

Boss Planet’s graphics are done in a Roblox, or “vox” type of style which combines 3-D pixel art with a block style. The Boss Planet token will be used as in-game currency, and will likely be worth value on exchanges and markets should the project take off as its founders anticipate.

Boss Cat Team, Details and Where to Purchase

BCRC has experienced significant success in the CNFT space, but it’s a project that’s either loved or hated. A big point of contention is the “undoxxed” status of its team members — meaning, that no BCRC team member has been identified or connected to a real individual. Of course, there are real people behind the PFP NFT avatars, but it is unusual for a project as large and successful as BCRC to not have a single team member doxxed.

BCRC has a large team (rightfully so, given their ambitious project) led by founder Blue Magic, game developer Tomcat, and engineer Cambie. They have a passionate fan base with the need for many moderators and administrators on their Discord server.

If you are interested in purchasing BCRC cats, rocket parts, or Boss Planet land, they can be found on popular CNFT secondary marketplaces such as JPG.Store and CNFT.io. These are the most recent floor prices (as of March 31, 2022) found on JPG.Store:

Boss Cats: 1660 ADA

Boss Cat Rocket Parts: 3050 ADA

Boss Planet Land Plot/Parcel: 280 ADA

JPG.Store link: https://www.jpg.store/

CNFT.io: https://cnft.io/

Enjoy your research into BCRC, and remember to always look for the verified check besides the collection while searching! Also, double check the project’s policy ID (different for all three NFT collections under the BCRC umbrella)!
