Decentraland Events - Metaverse Music Festivals and More
Metaverse worlds start out as a digital platform where land can be purchased and users can build their own experiences on the purchased land parcel. As time goes on, features in digital worlds will advance, much like Decentraland events. What type of events are on Decentraland and how do you find them? Let’s figure it out.
Events on Decentraland
There are recurring events on Decentraland, ones that are one-offs and fun activities to do all day long.
1. Socialization in Establishments
Not so much an event as it is an activity, players can socialize in other players’ constructed establishments. Decentraland aims to be a virtual world that mirrors much of what we have in real life. It’s an open game where there are hundreds of establishments like nightclubs, taverns, and even a place for mini golf (more on that later).
Socialization is a running theme within Decentraland and you can chat, interact, and share ideas with others in the space that you may never have gotten to meet in real life. You can even host events on your own land or invite your friends in the metaverse over to your land for a chat!
2. Concerts and Music Festivals
Concerts and music festivals are common events in Decentraland. DJs and individuals in entertainment have hosted jam sessions on their Decentraland plots. With the pandemic hitting the world back in 2020, we have become more accustomed to virtual events, so we have high hopes that these virtual concerts and music festivals will continue and evolve.
3. Casino Gambling
Another very common and popular even that people attend in Decentraland is poker and gambling nights! Virtual casinos are a thing that is gaining traction fast, and Decentraland has capitalized on that opportunity.
It’s possible to run almost every business establishment in this metaverse, so it’s no surprise that you can also find casinos on many streets. Anyone can build a virtual casino, and players would participate by using the game’s native token – MANA.
4. Decentraland Art Week
The Decentraland Art Week is an annual event occurring in the summertime. It is where some real-world galleries showcase their pieces in the metaverse space, and if you have constructed your own gallery or want to showcase your own NFTs, you can do so in an establishment.
You can not only find art from well-known artists at this event, but also films, theater performances and more! There is a lot offered and art week is a relatively new recurring event in Decentraland, so we’re excited to see what the future has in store.
If you plan on selling your part pieces during the art week, it’s important to know how to price them correctly and you can learn what they could be worth.
5. Play Games
You can play old-fashioned games in the virtual world, and sometimes these gaming establishments hold events as well. One of our favorites is playing mini-golf over on GolfCraft Island. There are competitions hosted every once in a while so after you have honed your skills, you can try your hand at some prizes!

How to Host and Find Events on Decentraland
Decentraland Events Calendar
The best way to keep your finger on the pulse of whatever is happening in Decentraland is to keep an eye on the events calendar.
It has a slideshow of the most recent upcoming events, displays the events that are currently trending, and more. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, you can make use of the search bar and type in the type of event you’re seeking or the name of the event.
Custom Events on Decentraland
You can choose to host your own events on Decentraland by creating a custom one. You can do so by initiating the Event Manager. It requires copying and pasting of various lines of code, but Decentraland has you covered.
There are a few things to keep in mind to ensure that your event is a hit
1. Pick the Right Location
Chances are there are already popular establishments in place to help you host your event. Find one that sees heavy foot traffic and has created excellent past experiences.
2. Have a Plan
Planning a party in the metaverse space is much like doing it in real life. You have to plan the playlist, the drink menu and the hors d’oeuvres to name a few. Make sure you have a plan!
3. The Main Theme
Once you have identified the theme or the main event, stick to it. If it’s a casino gambling night, make sure that the games are easily accessible, and make it worth it. Add your own spin to it such as an NFT raffle for attendees.
4. Promotion
Lastly, no one is going to know about your event if you do not promote it. There are so many events listed on the Decentraland calendar that simply doing that won’t be enough. Head over to Discord and Twitter to pump your event and reach out to the community.
One great way of setting the public eyes on your NFT project is by listing your art online. Listing your collection on sites like NFT Drops brings great exposure to your project.

Conclusion
Decentraland can support events that many big names in different industries participate in. Sotheby’s is one that comes to mind. Whether it’s gaming in virtual casinos, having a chinwag in a local cafe, or honing your mini-golf skills, there is always something to do. If you don’t find anything to your liking, you can even consider hosting an event of your own!
